A major restoration of a Georgian country house. The design includes the formation of new formal gardens with lawns, topiary, fountains and a new swimming pool with pool house. The restoration of historic garden features including a shell house and viewing tower.
Works in the wider estate include the restoration of woodland walks, productive gardens, the formation of a deer park, works to the lodge houses, entrance gates and stables. The design work included initial design proposals, detail design for tender and on site monitoring. Completed 2014.
Small courtyard garden in a contemporary cottage garden style incorporating a new garden room. Arranged around a rectangular lawn with a generous main path making the garden seem spacious and light. The structure is punctuated with exuberant planting of mixed perennials and grasses making a dynamic garden that changes through the season. Materials include new sawn york stone paving and coping with reclaimed cotswold walling culminating in the garden focal point of a reclaimed toad and trough fountain.
Berkshire Private House
New gardens for medieval manor house in Berkshire. The sloping site was terraced and re-landscaped in phases over three years to provide beautiful and usable landscape spaces within a formal structure including new drives and arrival space, formal gardens, a large entertaining terrace, a new grass tennis court, orchards and a hot tub. A full design service was provided from concept through to site management. Completed 2014.
Sussex Private House
Design for a private house in the South Downs National Park with beautiful views over the countryside. The design developed an existing scheme by the Belgian designer Jaques Wirtz to include a new swimming pool with a pool pavilion. Arbours and a new tennis court and other general landscape modifications. Pavilion and pool detail design by OBP Architects, Bath.
Due to the sensitive location two separate landscape and visual assessments for planning permission were undertaken.

Somerset Private House
Restoration of a garden overlooking the Somerset levels. Originally designed by the famous early 20th Century designer Howard Peto (Iford Manor, Buscot Park). The work included new entrance courtyard and drive, re-paving and re-planting the garden which had become dilapidated.
